Cash rebates / Tax incentives

Nafta Films can access cash rebates of up to 30-50% in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Finland.

Estonia - Film Estonia Rebate

  • Up to 40% rebate
  • Annual budget 2025: $6M
  • Open call, decision in 30 days
  • Min spend: $200k (features), $70k (docs/animation)

Latvia - Co-Financing Rebate

  • Up to 30% rebate
  • Requires 50% financing secured
  • Open call starting February
  • Eligible: fiction, docs, animation
  • Selective, point-based system

Riga Film Fund

  • Additional 20-25% rebate
  • Annual budget: €800,000
  • Open until Sept., first-come-first-served

Lithuania - Tax incentive (No cap)

  • Save up to 30% of your budget
  • No deadlines
  • Min spend: €43 000
  • Crew: at least 51% EEARequires Lithuanian co-producer

Finland - National cash rebate

  • 25% rebate
  • Requires Finnish partner/coordinator
  • Eligible spend may cover up to 80% of total budget
  • No deadlines (rolling)

Minority Co-Production Support

Nafta Films can apply for minority co-production support in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania

Estonia
  • Up to €200,000 for feature/animation, €60,000 for documentary
  • Up to 70% of Estonian budget
  • Spend requirement: 100% in Estonia
  • 2 calls / year (Feb, Oct)
Latvia
  • Annual budget: €400,000
  • 1 call / year (April → June decision)
  • Spend requirement: 80% in Latvia
  • Delegate producer must have 50% financing secured
Lithuania
  • Up to €100,000 or €200,000 depending on Lithuanian key creatives
  • Spend requirement: 85% in Lithuania
  • 2 calls / year (Spring, Autumn)
  • Requires 50% financing confirmed
Finland
  • (No minority scheme via Nafta – cash rebate only)
