“Summer Shadows” is a psychological drama that begins and ends on a theater stage. The story follows the journey of Anna, a 14-year-old girl attending a theater camp where the atmosphere grows increasingly tense as she comes under the attention of a manipulative instructor. Peter, a charismatic 25-year-old teacher, begins to exploit Anna’s vulnerability and forms an unhealthy relationship with her.
Meanwhile, one of the camp’s older students, Maria, observes the events unfold. Deeply infatuated with Peter, her jealousy and suspicions drive her to turn the other participants against Anna. What start as seemingly innocent games quickly escalate into physical and psychological bullying, forcing Anna into isolation. As tensions rise, she realizes she can no longer trust anyone.
Fifteen years later, Anna returns to the stage as an actress to bring the events of that summer to life before an audience that includes both Peter and Maria. The performance becomes Anna’s opportunity to finally voice everything she has kept inside and confront those who hurt her. But will doing so also bring her clarity and peace?
