The Reconstruction

Einārs Priede learns that he’s suffering from a serious illness, which propels him to set off on a journey he has long been putting off – he wants to find out the actual circumstances of his daughter’s death. In order to find out what led his daughter Anni to commit group suicide at a religious commune five years earlier, Einārs must travel through different parts of Estonia and even travel to Paris to meet with key figures from Anni’s life. Einārs relies on both their and his own memories to try and reconstruct the truth about what happened, but soon a picture emerges that is far more complicated than he could have anticipated, and Einārs finds himself questioning whether it would have been wiser to leave the past undisturbed.
