The Southern Chronicles

A comedy that takes you back to the first years of independence in Lithuania. It follows Rimantas, who is more interested in playing rugby, listening to music, and dealing on the black market than studying for school. However, when he falls in love with Monika, his faith in love and the future is tested. Based on Rimantas Kmita's novel "Pietinia kronikas" (2016).

It later expanded to a wider release of 311 theaters. In Lithuania, it is the most watched Lithuanian film of the all times.

"The Southern Chronicles" has grossed $3,605,592 in the domestic market, and a total of $3,605,592 worldwide. The film was released on January 24, 2025 in Lithuania, and opened with $381,232 in 281 theaters.
