In the near future, Estonian officer Tarapita leads a UN peacekeeping team in the Sahara, tasked with monitoring ISIS activity amid suspicions of illegal cobalt mining. Tensions rise within the team as they face bureaucratic obstacles and moral dilemmas.
A captured satellite phone and a failed meeting with a local contact reveal the villagers’ resentment toward foreign inaction against ISIS. When a local imam, Alhader, offers to help in exchange for Thor aiding his son’s escape, the mission takes a dangerous turn.
As Tarapita’s suspicions grow, strange transmissions hint that Kaka, the ISIS warlord, may not even be human but an AI manipulating events. In a final gambit, they ambush Kaka, only to discover he was never the true mastermind behind the chaos.
